About Lucy:

Lucy Angell has been teaching movement for over ten years to people of all different ages, experience and disciplines. Lucy enjoys how the interplay of creative movement and fitness in her own moving life enriches her work. She is passionate about bringing more mindful awareness and creative play into the fitness arena, while offering her performer-training classes a renewed sense of physical specificity and functional discipline Lucy is one of few certified Laban Movement Analysts working in Australia. She has delivered workshops throughout the country to artists, schools, theatre education programmes and health/fitness practitioners. Lucy is grateful every day for her experience and training as an actor – usually when having to make herself heard over the music! – and she worked for many years as an independent theatre artist and producer. Diligence, discipline, and excellent organisation skills were all fostered from long rehearsals and self-funded productions, and she invests these qualities into her client care. Lucy brings an expansive and diligent knowledge of anatomy, physiology and somatics to her classes and sessions. Her education and experience of the human body is varied yet specific, and an ongoing part of her professional practice. More recent study has included pathophysiology (School of Nursing, Melbourne University), experiential anatomy (Embodying, Melbourne) and injury prevention and awareness (Southside Osteopathy, Melbourne).
